Sunday Night Message from GLPS April 13, 2014

A short week at the Lake as we gear up for the Easter holiday. But lots of excitement! We begin on Monday, April 14 Day 3 Grade 7/8 girls are scheduled for immunizations On Tuesday and Thursday we have Grade 7/8 badminton at 8:15 Thursday students in Kindergarten to Grade 2 are asked to bring their favourite stuffie for the Teddy Bear Hospital Event. Students will visit the medics set up in the gym and in the parking lot. Set up will be at 7:00am, so some of our parking lot will be roped off for the event. Thursday is also hat day, students can wear their favourite hat or Easter bonnet for Spirit points. Finally our We Team will be hosting a Vow of Silence. Students can donate $1.00 to Free the children and participate in being silent for the day to create awareness for children rights. Remember to get those yearbook orders in. Just so everyone is aware the yearbook will include full names of only our grade 8 graduating students, as well as the teachers. There will be pictures of all the students but their names will not be identified. If you have any concerns, please contact the school. Grade 5, 7, and 8 students need to return their propel Healthy Schools survey permission forms as soon as possible. Remember to check all food items to ensure they are Nut free. We need to be especially vigilant during these special times with many celebrations occurring in some classes. Finally our Lost and Found is overflowing. We ask parents and students to check out the items as we will be packing it up after the holiday. We will be off on Friday for Good Friday and I will be back on Monday with the weekly message from General Lake. I wish everyone a wonderful week and a restful fun-filled holiday.
