As with many schools and buildings in Petawawa, General Lake Public School experienced a lockdown on Friday, June 28th. It was fortunately a PA Day so no students were in the building. Renfrew County DIstrict School Board continues to offer support services to address any adverse effects of the experience. We would like to thank the Emergency Response Services for their quick response and support; as well as a thank you to Valley Transportation and the Civic Centre for accommodating our needs, as we evacuated the building. Thank you to the community for the outpouring of concern for our welfare.
We will continue to refine our lockdown protocol for the new school year as we continue to make safety the NUMBER ONE priority in our school.
