The Renfrew Rotary Club is hosting an educational, interactive evening to discuss teenage mental health. Mental health staff from The Royal and The Phoenix Centre will help parents better understand how to prepare their kids to cope with the challenges of life and how to recognize when they need help. We will discuss:
- How the brain rewires itself during puberty
- How to deal with life transitions (i.e. changing schools, going to college or university, moving away from family and friends)
- The risk factors for mental illness and suicide and effective coping strategies
Join the discussion Wednesday, March 20 at the Cobden Agricultural Hall.
This event is hosted by the part of the Renfrew Rotary Club and the outreach program of D.I.F.D. (Do It For Daron) at The Royal.
Everyone is welcome!
