It was a Super event filled with fun, fantasy and fantastic food on January 27 to mark Family Literacy day at General Lake. Throughout the day, students and staff dawned their favourite Superhero attire. In the evening, the halls came alive as families enjoyed a fabulous feast beside the towering buildings of Gotham city, then completed their top secret missions. A Special thank you to the Major family: Edward, Claudia, Henri, and Ivan (AKA the Incredibles) for their hard work in the planning, decorations and serving the delicious meal. Thanks to 'Super-intendy' Ms Rantz for attending our event. Thanks to our parent volunteers Karen, Susan, Virginia, Adele, Zabrina and Jodi, for jumping in to help the event run smoothly. Thanks to the students: Jada, Jeris, Skye, Alex, Katie, Katie W, Duncan, Gracie, Sarah, Melora, Kian, Lauren, Taylor, Jenna, Connor for running the missions and ensuring everyone had a Super evening. Thank you to teacher, Mrs. Marquardt and her family Mr. Marquardt, Bethany, Samantha, and her Superdogs, Payton, Tobi and Quin and 3 month old Harper. Thanks to all parents for their tremendous support. Thank you to Moncion's for their support. What a wonderful show of community spirit and an important lesson on the power of service.
Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has. Margaret Mead.
